As a company grows, its original logotype often fails to match the evolving look and feel of its marketing collateral. It is seldom flexible enough to be used effectively in signage, advertising, presentations, and multimedia. When Bingham, Osborn & Scarborough confronted this situation, the firm turned to Brand Design to redesign its logotype and marry it with suitable iconography. A woodcut illustration we had done for the firm’s first brochure provided the icon — a sailboat. Not only did the company’s principals identify closely with this image, but their clients liked it as well. It conveyed the stability and competence of the firm in “navigating the financial waters.”
